The Ministry of Family Affairs is Established in the UAE
The United Arab Emirates has announced the creation of the Ministry of Family Affairs. This was revealed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Sana Suhail, who brings extensive experience in family and social policy, has been appointed as the new minister.
The main responsibilities of the new ministry include:
- Establishing programs that foster stable and cohesive families, enhancing the family’s role in raising the younger generation.
- Supporting initiatives to increase birth rates among UAE national families.
- Designing programs to prepare couples for marriage, support young families, and reduce the risk of divorces.
- Ensuring children's well-being and safeguarding their rights and interests.
- Providing assistance and support to vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, people with disabilities, and low-income families.
- Preparing a workforce for the social sector, licensing specialists, and accrediting institutions.
