Another Section of Dubai's Main Road to Become Toll-Based

Dubai opens tenth Salik toll plaza

Salik Company PJSC, which manages Dubai's toll system, has announced the launch of the city's tenth Salik toll gate. The new gate is located on Sheikh Zayed Road between Al Meydan and Umm Al Sheif Streets.

Toll collection for this section is expected to start by the end of November, though the exact date is yet to be confirmed. Just last month, the ninth Salik gate became operational on the Business Bay Crossing along Al Khail Road.

These new Salik gates aim to improve traffic flow and ease congestion in central Dubai. The Salik system, which uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, automatically collects tolls from vehicles equipped with special tags.
