Dubai Allows Electric Scooters on Public Transport
The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has lifted the ban on carrying electric scooters on the subway and trams.
Electric scooter requirements:
- Weight: maximum of 20 kg.
- Dimensions: up to 120 cm x 70 cm x 40 cm.
- Condition: scooters must be dry and clean.
- Battery: must meet international standards (UL, IEC, etc.), be undamaged, and contain no additional batteries.
- Usage: charging scooters on public transport is prohibited, as well as obstructing aisles, seats, or emergency exits. Scooters must be folded before boarding.
