Construction of a Passenger Railway in the UAE

The UAE Has Commenced the Development of The Etihad Rail Passenger Railway Network

Etihad Rail has started building its first passenger station in the Emirate of Fujairah, in the Sakamkam area.

• The first passenger stations will be located in Sakamkam (Fujairah) and University City in Sharjah. 
• Passenger trains will run on the existing Etihad Rail freight network. 
• The trains will reach speeds of up to 200 km/h. 
• Etihad Rail aims to transport 36 million passengers annually by 2030. 
• The Hafeet Rail project will link the UAE to the Port of Sohar in Oman, enhancing international passenger connections.
