According to the annual Global Startup Ecosystem Report (GSER), in 2024:
Dubai scored 10 out of 10 in funding. It has 5 unicorns worth $1+ billion each, operating in the emirate.
Abu Dhabi is the fastest growing startup ecosystem in the Mena region.
Sharjah is ranked 5th in the Mena ecosystem in bang for the buck.
Two new communications satellites will be launched in Abu Dhabi in 2027-2028
They are designed to provide secure governmental communications across Middle East, Africa, Europe and Asia.
