Plans for Metro Development
The Government of Dubai has presented ambitious plans for Metro development by 2040
The project includes:
– More Than Doubling the Number and Area of Metro Stations
– Development of Commercial and Office Spaces Around Metro Stations
This initiative is aimed at:
- Reducing Carbon Emissions' Impact to 16 Tonnes per Capita
- Stimulating Construction Around Stations
- Increasing Passenger Traffic
Currently, the Dubai Metro features 64 stations operating over an area of 84km².
Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a $117 million project in Dubai Harbour
The construction of a two-lane 1.5 km bridge will:
– Reduce Travel Times From Sheikh Zayed Road to Dubai Harbour From 12 to 3 Mins
– Increase Vehicle Flow to 6,000 Cars per Hour
