Dubai Ruler Launches Ambitious Greening Program in the UAE
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, has launched an ambitious national program, "Plant the Emirates," aimed to enhance agriculture, expand green spaces, and promote environmental sustainability across the nation.
Announced on Sunday, the initiative builds on the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s founding president, by promoting a culture of farming among all segments of the population.
Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that the program will tackle key priorities such as enhancing the country's food security, advancing agricultural technologies, strengthening partnerships with the private sector, and creating a greener environment.
To support the program, the Cabinet approved the establishment of a National Agricultural Center, which will play a pivotal role in the development of the UAE's agricultural sector.
