Several important regulations and initiatives came into effect in the UAE on October 1, 2024, impacting various aspects of daily life.
– Ajman has introduced an innovative AI-powered traffic monitoring system. New cameras will now automatically detect violations such as the use of mobile phones while driving and failure to wear seat belts.
– For travelers, visa procedures have been simplified. From October 1, citizens of 35 countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and India, can now visit Sri Lanka without a visa.
– The Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) has introduced new guidelines for Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs), enhancing oversight and control within the industry.
– The Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) organization has launched a large-scale early cancer detection campaign. From October 1, UAE residents can receive free mammograms or clinical exams at mobile clinics. The first mobile clinic will be stationed at the Naema gas station in Al Ain.
